Christmas Gift Guide For Outdoor Adventure Lovers

With Christmas fast approaching, many of you out there might be scratching your heads wondering what to gift to any outdoor adventure lovers in your life. We love the idea of giving the gift of an experience, but know that many people might also be shopping for a small gift or stocking-filler – so here’s our list of gift suggestions running the full range of options.

The Gift of Experience

Our activity gift vouchers are perfect for outdoor adventure lovers, and can be purchased for a specific activity (such as coasteering, sea kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding) or for equipment hire, or for a value towards an activity of the recipient’s choice. These are available from our website (click the “Book Now” button in the top and either shop by activity or purchase a gift voucher for a set amount) and they can be downloaded, printed out, and popped in a card.  If you’re the sort of person who leaves their Christmas shopping until the last minute then this might be the option for you!

rCUP Reusable Coffee Cup
Made from recycled paper coffee cups and 100% recyclable using the UKs curbside recycling system (although its designed to last for a decade), this is the only reusable coffee cup you’ll ever need. Designed and made right here in Cornwall, insulated, leakproof and with a one-handed opening system that means you can drink as you would from a normal mug, rather than through a tiny hole in a plastic lid. If you don’t already have a reusable cup, then now’s the time and this is the one.

Chilly’s Surfers Against Sewage Water Bottle
For 2020 we’re aiming to have a water refill station set up in Cornish Rock Tors HQ. We don’t want to have to pick another single use plastic bottle up off our beach ever again, and as well as doing litter picks and only selling canned water, the next step for us is to refill your water canteens for you. These 500ml insulated bottles are made from high grade, BPA-free stainless steel by leading brand Chilly’s and sold by leading marine environment charity Surfers Against Sewage, so by purchasing one of these as a gift you’re doing double the good! The next step is to being it in to us next time you’re visiting, for a refill.

Microadventures, by Alistair Humphreys
A microadventure is an adventure that is short, simple, local, cheap – yet still fun, exciting, challenging, refreshing and rewarding. Alistair Humphreys is an adventurer and author who, having completed some enormous international expeditions decided that there was just as much reward from a quick and easy overnight adventure in your own postcode. His book Microadventures makes them more accessible than ever.

COVID-19 UPDATE 19/05/2020

All of our activities are cancelled and we remain closed.  We are making preparations for a phased re-opening as soon as it is safe and sensible to do so.  As soon as we are notified by our insurers and sport governing bodies, and are confident that it is ok to do so, we look forward to welcoming you back.  You can find further details on our blog.

Our beautiful coastline isn’t going anywhere and will be here waiting for you when we have made it through this, as will we.

Be safe,

Ben and the team
