If you’re interested in taking part in an open water swimming event or race this year, here’s our comprehensive list of open water swimming events in Cornwall in 2019. Some are pure swim events (with a choice of distances), whilst some are aquathlons, biathlons, or triathlons with additional run or run and cycle legs.

’50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ at Port Gaverne
We love The National Trust’s ‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ initiative. With so many people discovering the joys of staycationing or holidaying in the UK this summer, more and more young people will be discovering the simple joys that the natural world provides and forging a relationship with the environment.
Summer 2020 Open Water Swim Specials
This summer we’re excited to be running a series of guided open water swim specials. These will be stand-alone events for small groups, designed to cater for those swimmers wanting to explore beyond the confines of the bays and experience swimming sections of otherwise inaccessible coastline with other like-minded swimmers.
Plastic Free Champion
We’re proud to announce that Cornish Rock Tors is now a single-use plastic free business. Over the winter months we went through Surfers Against Sewage’s Plastic Free Champion certification, and we received approval and our nice wooden plaque at the end of winter (just before lockdown hit).

Fact File: Sea Mist
During spring and early summer we sometimes experience sea mist along the coast of Cornwall. Just half a mile inland there can be beautiful blue skies and sunshine first thing in the morning, whilst at sea level on the beach there is thick fog.

A Short History of Port Gaverne
Cornish Rock Tors is based in Port Gaverne, a small fishing hamlet situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Heritage Coast Area.
